Nominations Open for the New Supervisors Professional Development Program

Priority: Informational

The Office of Professional Development & Learning Management is pleased to announce that starting January 2021, we will once again be offering our New Supervisors Professional Development Program to all new CUNY supervisors. The program is designed to address the knowledge and skill gaps most often experienced by CUNY supervisors with less than 2 years of experience.

Curriculum competencies that have been identified as integral to CUNY management success include, but are not limited to:

  • Employee Engagement
  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Communication/ Effective Feedback
  • Delegation
  • Conflict Management
  • Performance Management and more…

Additionally, due to the abrupt changes and challenges that have occurred over the last year, we have updated our curriculum to address some of these issues for managers. The program will now include a live, remote workshop on Managing Your Remote Workforce. The second phase of the program will also include a Diversity & Inclusion training series that will discuss CUNY’s policies on Equal Employment & Non-Discrimination and Sexual Misconduct, as well as recognizing unconscious bias.
