Gil Dekel, CSCI Major (Lower Junior) receives renowned Undergraduate Summer Research Internship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Gil Dekel, CSCI major, is the recipient of a highly prestigious Undergraduate Summer Research Internship at MIT. Gil will do 10 weeks of intense research in Professor Michael S. Fee's neuroscience lab at MIT's McGovern Institute for Brain Research. Fee's group works on "Understanding how the brain learns and generates complex sequential behaviors, with a focus on the songbird as a model system." At Hunter, Gil is a student in Professor Susan Epstein's machine learning and problem solving lab, where he works on modeling spatial data to support robot navigation. Join us in wishing him great success in this endeavor.

RUTH HAUPTMAN WINS INAUGURAL D.I.A. COHEN PRIZE FOR EXCELLENCE IN THEORETICAL COMPUTER SCIENCE

At Hunter College's 211th Commence Exercises, Ms. Ruth Hauptman was the recipient of the HC Computer Science Department's inaugural bestowal of the Daniel I.A. Cohen Prize for Academic Excellence in Theoretical Computer Science.
