Revisions to Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects (45 CFR 46)-Postponed again until January 21, 2019
Implementation of revisions to the Common Rule, federal policy for the protection of human subjects (45 CFR Part 46), as well as corresponding CUNY Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) Policies & Procedures are scheduled to go into effect on January 21, 2019. CUNY will continue to operate under current regulations and policies until the new effective date, and no changes will be made to the IRB application or protocols and procedures until this time. Information regarding changes to the Common Rule are available on the OHRP 'Final Revisions to the Common Rule' website. Changes to the CUNY HRPP policies are summarized here. The CUNY Office of Research Compliance will publish revised policies, guidance and templates on their HRPP Policies & Procedures website on June 18, 2018.
