MARIACHI project, Stony Brook University: MARIACHI is a cosmic ray detection experiment that integrates its scientific and educational missions through extensive cyberinfrastructure. MARIACHI's detection technology, which is being installed and operated in high schools and community colleges, also facilitates the studies of meteors, and atmospheric ionization phenomena from lightning to exotic sprites. The web site's NSF-funded educational portal offers activities and experiments for high school and undergraduate students, examples of courses and workshops that use cybertools such as interactive wikis and blogs, and opportunities for research involvement for teachers and high school and undergraduate students. http://www-mariachi.physics.sunysb.edu/
