Dr. Maya Clark-Cutaia and Dr. Elsie Jolade of the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing have been named fellows of the American Academy of Nursing (AAN), one of the profession’s highest honors. The two were recognized for their contributions to health and health care during the American Academy of Nursing’s Annual Conference, held October 16–18 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Clark-Cutaia and Dr. Jolade join nine of their Hunter-Bellevue colleagues in the Academy, often called the nursing field’s “hall of fame.”
Dr. Clark-Cutaia, the inaugural Evelyn Lauder Associate Dean for Nurse Practitioner Programs, leads the Evelyn Lauder Community Care Nurse Practitioner Program, which advances health equity in partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals. A clinician, nurse scientist, and Air Force veteran, her research explores chronic illness and the social determinants of health.
Dr. Jolade directs Hunter’s Doctor of Nursing Practice and Clinical Nurse Specialist programs, drawing on her expertise as a family nurse practitioner and critical care specialist to promote global health and international collaboration.
