Johnson Xie (’27) and Hassil Pujara (’26), majoring in Computer Science & Chinese Language & Literature have been awarded Freeman Asia Award for Study in Asia. Winners will study Chinese intensively in Taiwan this summer.
Johnson is also one of three Chinese Flagship Scholars who won the 2025 Boren Scholarship which will enable him to study Chinese at National Chengchi University in Taiwan next year while he completes his Capstone projects for the Flagship Program. The Boren Scholarship awards its recipients $25,000 to support a year of intensive language study abroad and is a program of the US State Department.
