February DCAS Civil Service 101 Sessions - Register by Friday, 1/30

January 26, 2026
Share

Please see updated registration information below for the February DCAS Civil Service 101 information sessions.

DCAS is offering two upcoming Civil Service 101 (CS101) information sessions this February. These sessions provide a high-level overview of the civil service system and are intended to help employees better understand civil service concepts and career pathways.

Please note that CUNY is a separate municipal authority, and some processes discussed during the session may be specific to NYC agencies and may not fully align with CUNY. However, the sessions can still be helpful for general context around civil service examination processes.

Topics Covered

  • Overview of the civil service examination process
  • How to apply for a civil service exam
  • What generally happens after taking and passing an exam
  • Q&A with DCAS staff

Upcoming Sessions (Hybrid)

Session 1: Thursday, February 5, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Virtual & 1 Centre Street, 24th Floor South, New York, NY 10007

Session 2: Friday, February 13, 2026 | 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM
Location: Virtual & 1 Centre Street, 24th Floor South, New York, NY 10007

How to Register (Deadline: Friday, 1/30)

Employees should first discuss with their supervisor and then register by completing and submitting a CTC application form to University.Training@cuny.edu by Friday, 1/30. The CUNY Professional Development and Learning (PDL) team will submit registrations to DCAS on employees’ behalf.

Please reach out to Civil Service Support with any questions: Classified.Centex@cuny.edu.

Regards,
UHR Civil Service Support
