Alumni from Hunter College gathered on June 3 in Washington, D.C., for a lively regional reception that brought together about 50 graduates for an evening of connection and camaraderie.
The event at Italian seafood restaurant Fiola Mare, with scenic views of the Georgetown waterfront, was a hit, giving Hunter alumni in the D.C. area from the Classes of 1968 through the 2000s an opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and forge new relationships.
Michelle McKenzie ’01, who soon will open a local cafe dedicated to healthy food, captured the enthusiasm of the evening.
“I was so delighted and had a wonderful time!” she said. “When I saw that the gathering was at Fiola Mare, it was a quick and enthusiastic RSVP. Folks really seemed to love the opportunity to gather and meet new people with whom they share school associations.”
The reception underscored that the strong bonds of the Hunter College community endure.
Several alumni expressed a desire to serve as alumni association “chapter captains,” so area alumni should stay tuned for more Hunter events.
