With the new year and semester comes a new perk for Hunter students — a powerful new graphics tool at their fingertips to elevate their academic projects: Adobe Express.
Thanks to a partnership between CUNY and Hunter College, all students have free access to the platform's premium version, valued at $240. Adobe Express is an intuitive, all-in-one content-creation tool that allows users to design professional-quality visuals, presentations, and documents without the steep learning curve of advanced design software. It uses Generative AI to create videos, images, voice, and templates, and posts in a safe way.
A basic version of the software is available to the public. Hunter students, however, are receiving a significant upgrade, with a full range of graphic and artistic tools, including Photoshop. They can make videos, PDFs, and QR codes, and use an AI assistant to edit. This makes the perk better than a Canva Pro account, according to Adobe.
Whether it is designing a club flyer, laying out a research poster, or creating engaging slides for a final presentation, the platform is designed to help students communicate their ideas more effectively.
“It’s not the free version; it’s the full suite, so they can build all kinds of graphic-oriented projects,” said an IT spokesman for the college. “The tool truly is a game-changer.”
