It’s hard money for a software pro.
The National Science Foundation has awarded Hunter College Associate Computer Science Prof. Raffi Khatchadourian an almost $600,000 grant to further his research on software for Artificial Intelligence.
Khatchadourian, who is also a faculty member of CUNY's Graduate Center, researches the intersection of software engineering, programming languages, and reliable (Machine Learning) systems. The grant will enable him to hire several graduate students on his projects.
“Our work helps correct flaws in Machine Learning models and systems, making AI much safer and more efficient to use,” said Khatchadourian. “We thank the NSF for this helpful grant.”
Hunter’s Department of Computer Science provides students with outstanding preparation for employment as computer professionals and for future graduate study. The department expects students to construct creative solutions to challenging problems in a variety of contexts. The curriculum focuses on hands-on programming skills and the theoretical foundations that support technology and guide its future development. Computer Science is the fastest-growing major at Hunter.
