Hunter's Class of 2023 Economics Graduates

Introducing Rising Stars in the Field

Hunter College’s Class of 2023 economics graduates are a talented and diverse group of individuals who are poised to make a mark in the field. With their analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of economic theory, they are well-equipped to tackle the challenges of the post-pandemic economy.

So, what are the next steps for these rising stars in the field? Here are some highlights of their plans and aspirations:


Jilmar Robledo

Jilmar is committed to Tufts University for a Joint PhD in Economics and Public Policy. He was also accepted into the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Maryland.

 


 

Nathaniel Badalov

Photo of Nathaniel Badalov

Nathaniel is committed to George Washington University in their Ph.D. Economics program.

He was also accepted to Syracuse University, Stony Brook University, University of Connecticut, Fordham University, and Rutgers University.

 


 

Cord Barnes

Cord is a second year HASPERE student and has spent the last year working between Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve and Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He will be completing his thesis on the effects of Covid-19 tenant protections on local rent prices over the upcoming summer and has accepted a full-time offer as a Research Assistant at Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve in Washington, D.C. He will continue his work on the Equitable Growth Studies Project (FRBNY) as well. He will be based at the Board in D.C. and intends to remain in the D.C. role for at least two years before pursuing doctoral studies.

 


 

Hassane Meite

Hassane is a second MA student (HASPERE) from Côte d’Ivoire. He has enrolled in the Economics PhD at Georgetown University. He also received offers from Cornell Dyson, Boston University, Texas A&M and McGill University.

 


 

Tiffany Fermin

Photo of Tiffany Ferman

Tiffany is a second year HASPERE student and in terms of the Master’s program, she is currently working on her thesis. She has spent the last year interning at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and just transitioned to working as a full-time Research Analyst. It is typically a 2-year position, during which she will spend the next few months finishing up her thesis and looking into applying to PhD programs in Economics.

 


 

Azka Imran

Azka is committed to University of Southern California Sol Price School of Public Policy. She was also accepted to University of Michigan, University of Minnesota, Georgia State, and Pardee RAND Graduate School.
