February 26, 2026
Share

Dear CUNY Colleagues,

University Human Resources, Professional Development & Learning (PDL) is pleased to share the Spring 2026 DCAS professional development course schedule available to all eligible CUNY employees. These courses, offered through the DCAS Citywide Training Center and coordinated by PDL, provide valuable opportunities to strengthen your skills in leadership, communication, conflict management, time management, and more.

Seats are filling quickly for our upcoming March sessions. We strongly encourage employees to register as soon as possible to secure a spot. Once sessions reach capacity, we are unable to guarantee additional seats.

Upcoming Spring Sessions with Seat Availability:
  • March 18th - How to Communicate with Diplomacy, Tact, and Credibility
Build more effective communication strategies that enhance clarity and influence.

  • March 20th - Conflict Resolution Strategies for the Culturally Diverse Workplace
Strengthen your ability to manage and resolve workplace conflict constructively.

  • April 15th - The Art of Assertiveness
Develop confidence and communicate effectively in challenging situations.

  • April 28th - Leading Through Challenges: Managing Difficult Employees & Resolving Conflict for a Productive Workplace
Designed for supervisors and managers navigating complex team dynamics.

  • May 7th - Cultural Agility at Work: Skills for Today’s Workforce (Half-Day Session)
Learn how to navigate differences in values, communication styles, work habits, and expectations- whether those differences arise across cultures, generations, or departments.

  • May 28th - Enhancing Emotional Intelligence to Increase Professional Success
Deep dive into emotional intelligence and learn more about self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship management.

  • June 10th - Strategic Team Building & Leadership Dynamics
Empower leaders with the insights and skills necessary to leverage their staff’s work and social styles in building cohesive and high-performing teams.

Updated June 2nd Session:
Please note that the previously scheduled Adaptive Leadership course on June 2nd has been replaced with:

  • Everyday AI for Work and Life: Building Curiosity, Confidence, and Connection in the Age of Change.
This session reflects the growing importance of AI across all roles at the University. Participants will explore practical, accessible ways to use AI tools to draft communications, streamline tasks, enhance creativity, and work more efficiently. Whether you are new to AI or already experimenting with it, this session will provide actionable strategies that can immediately support your daily work.

Given the strong interest we are seeing this semester, with several sessions already reaching capacity in advance of their scheduled dates, we strongly recommend early registration.

Registration Details:
  1. Discuss participation with your supervisor and confirm approval to attend.
  2. Complete the Spring 2026 PDL Registration Form.
  3. You and your supervisor will receive a confirmation email from PDL (University.Training@cuny.edu) within 7 business days.
Cancellations:

If you need to cancel, please notify PDL at least 10 days prior to the session to allow waitlisted colleagues the opportunity to attend. If a campus cannot provide PDL with adequate notice, they also have the option of identifying a substitute employee who may attend in the registered employee’s absence. Campuses will be responsible for the course payment if proper notice is not given within the 10 day period.

Session Location & Cost:

Most DCAS sessions are held from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM at CUNY Central Office, 395 Hudson Street, New York, NY 10014. The standard course fee is $160 per participant unless otherwise noted.

**Note: Eligible HEO and CLT employees may be able to use the PSC-CUNY Professional Development Fund to cover workshop costs.

For full course descriptions, please refer to the PDL/DCAS course catalog.

We look forward to your participation and continued commitment to professional growth at CUNY.
