Registration is Open for Spring 2026 Professional Development

Dear Colleagues,

The Professional Development & Learning (PDL) Office is pleased to share several exciting opportunities this Spring designed to support your growth and success at CUNY. Whether you’re looking to strengthen your leadership skills, improve communication, or gain tools to navigate workplace challenges, we invite you to explore and register today. Full programming information can be found in the attached Spring 2026 Professional Development Schedule.

Highlights from Our Spring Lineup:

Spring 2026 PDL Course Offerings at CUNY Central

  • Includes: Live courses held at CUNY Central (395 Hudson Street) in communication styles, leadership, emotional intelligence, and more. A complete list of course offerings and dates can be found in the Spring 2026 Catalog here.
  • Cost: $160 per session for full day/ $80 per half-day session
  • Seats: Limited to 25 per session

To Register:

  1. Confirm all details with direct supervisor including work schedule, coverage, and cost.
  2. Complete the Spring 2026 Registration Form.

**Note: Eligible HEO and CLT employees may be able to use the PSC-CUNY Professional Development Fund to cover workshop costs.


Step Up to Conflict: Navigating Conflict with Confidence (No-Cost Learning)

  • Audience: All CUNY employees
  • Format: Half-day virtual workshops
  • Dates:
    • Thursday, February 19th, 10:00am–1:30pm
    • Thursday, March 19th, 10:00am–1:30pm
    • Thursday, April 16th, 10:00am–1:30pm
    • Thursday, May 7th, 10:00am–1:30pm
    • Thursday, July 16th, 10:00am–1:30pm
  • Description: Learn practical skills to manage and resolve conflict constructively. This session supports communication and leadership competencies.
  • To register, please complete the Step Up to Conflict Registration Form.

Refocus & Lead: A Manager Refresh (No-Cost Learning)

  • Audience: CUNY managers (2-6 years experience)
  • Includes: Access to curated online modules, 3 live CUNY-led sessions and a succession planning activity.
  • Program Dates: March 16th through June 30th

To Register:

  1. Supervisors can learn more about the program and submit a nomination for employees here: Refocus & Lead Supervisor Nomination Form.
  2. Deadline to submit: Friday, February 20th

New Supervisors Program (No-Cost Learning)

  • Audience: New CUNY supervisors (0-2 years experience)
  • Includes: Access to curated online modules, 3 live CUNY-led sessions
  • Program Dates: April 1st through September 1st

To Register:

  1. Supervisors can learn more about the program and submit a nomination for employees here: New Supervisors Program Nomination Form.
  2. Deadline to submit: Monday, March 2nd

Don't Forget: Complete Your Annual Compliance Trainings in Brightspace! (Required)

Compliance trainings are now offered through Brightspace. We encourage all employees to log in and complete their required courses as soon as possible, before the May 29th deadline.

Required Trainings:

  • ESPARC: Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Course
  • WVP: Workplace Violence Prevention Training
  • GBVT: Gender-Based Violence Training (Required for HR professionals and employees who supervise at least one direct report)
  • Title VI: Understanding Title VI Training (Required for all full-time staff and faculty starting October 2025)
  • Cybersecurity Training
