The hand behind the curtain rocks the audience!
Before the lights rise at Hunter College’s Kaye Playhouse, its staffers perform a myriad of tasks to ensure that the venue functions smoothly and provides the audience with an incredible experience.
One such staffer is Box Office Manager Harmony McGivney, who was honored in January with the 2026 Spirit Award by the International Ticketing Association (INTIX) at its annual conference in Las Vegas. McGivney co-chairs TriTix, the INTIX regional ticketing group, and the Member Connections Committee, which supports new and long-time members.
“INTIX members and ticketing professionals from around the world help create the moments that make live events unforgettable,” the organization wrote in a press release. “From the first click to the final curtain call, it is your expertise, precision and dedication that keeps the industry moving and the magic alive.”
Kaye Playhouse Director Dara Falco wasn't surprised that McGivney won an industry award.
“Anyone who knows Harmony can attest to the incredible energy she brings into every space,” she said. “Whether it’s at the playhouse or at industry events, she solves problems and makes everyone feel valued.”
For McGivney, it is all in a day’s work.
“I’m grateful for this honor and for INTIX, which brings so many resources to our field,” McGivney said.
