Thanks to the effort of the Dean’s office of Arts and Sciences, the Visualization and Virtual Reality Lab (led by Prof. Oyewole Oyekoya) has just acquired 30 Meta Quest 3 devices to enable teaching and research.
This will also foster more research/teaching collaborations between Computer Science and the Humanities, e.g., Japanese program.
The VR lab’s research focuses on studying the perceptual effects of Look-Alike Avatars in Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality Environments, with long term potential for 3D virtual learning, remote collaboration, and telepresence.
