My nursing research focuses on evidence-based practice in nursing. In order to provide the best care and promote improved patient outcomes, nurses must base their practice on current research; I am especially interested in the intersection of technology and healthcare and the use of informatics to improve practice. I work with nurses both locally and globally to identify clinical nursing and midwifery research priorities that will address gaps in the evidence. I also help nurses translate existing evidence into practice and test national and international practice guidelines to ensure that they truly are best practice. I have been fortunate to work toward this in both Africa and the Middle East, and have plans to conduct research in Latin America and the Caribbean.
