Mandatory Annual Compliance Trainings (2025–2026)

Hunter College employees are required to successfully complete all applicable compliance training courses each year.

Important Deadlines

Cyber Security Awareness Training Deadline
  • Due Date for All Employees: November 20, 2025
Other Compliance Trainings Internal Deadlines*
  • Due Date for Fall Semester Adjunct Faculty & Part-Time Staff: December 1, 2025
  • Due Date for Full-Time Faculty & Staff: December 31, 2025

*The internal deadline reflects a Hunter College goal intended to improve Compliance Training rates.

Required Training Courses

Comprehensive training covering prevention of sexual misconduct, Title IX policies, and appropriate response procedures for incidents of sexual harassment and violence.

Required for: ALL employees (full-time, part-time, adjuncts, graduate assistants)

Open the ESPARC Training Course

Learn to identify, prevent, and respond to potential workplace violence situations. Covers risk factors, warning signs, and proper reporting procedures.

Required for: ALL employees (full-time, part-time, adjuncts, graduate assistants)

Open the WVP Training Course

Specialized training focusing on gender-based violence prevention, awareness, and response strategies within the educational environment.

Required for: ALL supervisors

Open the GBVT Training Course

Essential training covering cybersecurity best practices, threat recognition, data protection, and safe computing practices to protect college systems and information.

Required for: ALL employees (full-time, part-time, adjuncts, graduate assistants)

Open the CSAT Training Course

All New York State employees are required by law to participate in ethics training every calendar year. Unlike the other training courses, this training is NOT offered through Brightspace and registration is required through the New York State Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG). How to Access Your Training Courses

Access training courses through your CUNY Brightspace account using your Hunter College credentials.

Look for compliance courses listed under “My Courses” by scrolling all the way down once logged into Brightspace.

CUNY Brightspace compliance training courses

Work through all training modules and pass required assessments for completion credit.

You will know your completion is recorded by receiving an email confirmation from “Brightspace-DoNotReply@cuny.brightspace.com” Please save this email.

Additional Assistance

For additional assistance with Compliance Trainings, email htr-hr-trainings@hunter.cuny.edu.

For technical support with Brightspace access, contact CUNY IT Support.

Important Reminders

All Hunter College employees are required to complete mandatory annual training courses in compliance with New York State law and CUNY policies. These trainings are essential for maintaining a safe, respectful, and compliant workplace environment.

  • If your employment status becomes inactive in CUNYfirst, you will lose access to training courses.
  • Research Foundation (RF) employees follow separate training requirements.
  • For reasonable accommodations, contact your campus ADA Compliance Coordinator.

The ESPARC, WVP, and GBVT trainings will run from September 2, 2025, through May 29, 2026.

All part-time employees, including adjuncts, are responsible for completing the trainings by the deadline of May 29, 2026.

NOTE: If your spring semester ends prior to May 29, it is your responsibility to complete the trainings before the end of your campus semester to ensure your completion is marked by the University. Once an employee becomes inactive in CUNYfirst, they can no longer access the training.
