The Intrepid Museum is located inside the USS Intrepid (CV-11), a decommissioned aircraft carrier that survived five Kamikaze attacks and a torpedo strike during World War II. Visitors can find the museum docked at Pier 86, where inside the ship they’ll find immersive exhibitions dedicated to science, history, and military service. Some highlights of the museum’s collection include Enterprise, the world’s first space shuttle, Growler, the only nuclear-weapons submarine open to the public, and dozens of military aircrafts.
