The Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art began as an exhibition by gay artists in a Soho loft in 1969, and it is the only LGBTQIA+ dedicated art museum in the world. The Museum examines the interrelationship of art and social justice, and strives to preserve, diversify, and make accessible the artworks in its collection.
