Founded in 1901, the Society of Illustrators is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America. The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art is also now a part of the Society of Illustrators, and they host the annual MoCCA Festival, an independent comics showcase. The first member of the Society’s Hall of Fame was Norman Rockwell, whose works are frequently featured in the Society’s exhibits. The society now has a bar on location called 128 Bar, which has its own patio and space amongst the art work.
