The Frick is a museum and research center which houses a permanent collection of 1,800 European artworks originating from the Renaissance to the early twentieth century. Constructed just over one hundred years ago, The Frick was a mansion owned by Henry Clay Frick before being transformed into a museum. In 2025, The Frick Collection re-opened after a $220 million renovation, meant to “honor the past and enhance the future.”
Just blocks from Hunter’s 68th Street campus, the Frick has hosted sketch nights for groups of Hunter students, where artists can draw at their own pace among the collection, with art materials provided by the museum.
Admission is free for Hunter students and faculty, plus one guest, with a Hunter ID.
