The Jewish Studies Center at Hunter College is an interdisciplinary program with an exciting diversity of courses on the Jewish experience from Biblical times to the present day. We offer students new and compelling approaches to understanding the contemporary world, while fostering connections between a variety of disciplines such as history, art, language, literature and more. The broad nature of the programs are designed to strengthen ties between Hunter and the New York City community, while also preparing students for an array of career and graduate study paths. The program reflects the diverse Hunter student body and Hunter's deep connections to New York City through internship programs at a range of cultural organizations, courses on Jewish New York, and programming on New York Jewish life. We also sponsor innovative and original academic lectures and public events.
