Welcome to Hunter! My name is Joseline Marin Chacon and I began working at Hunter College in 2017 as a Peer Advisor, then as a CUNYCAP (CUNY Counseling Assistantship Program) and as of 2021 as an Academic Advisor. I am a proud Hunter alumna! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in 2019 and my Master’s in Education for Mental Health Counseling in 2022. As an undergraduate, I majored in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. For my master’s degree, I specialized in mental health care in a private practice setting for adults. I am passionate about helping all students create a plan to reach their academic goals and my main area of specialty is working with incoming first-year students. I am originally from Ecuador but have lived in New York since childhood. Outside of work I enjoy partaking in the creative arts, such as painting, ceramics, and embroidery.
Urgent need: The number of students turning to the Purple Apron Food Pantry has doubled this semester—and demand is expected to double again. Help ensure no Hunter student goes hungry while pursuing their goals. Give to the Purple Apron Food Pantry.
