Pre-Health Events and Seminars
Please be advised that beginning January 2026 during the Spring Semester;
all PPAP 1000 & PPAP 1002 seminars will change to FRIDAYS at 12pm - 1:50pm
Seminar Series Overview
This seminar series is designed to equip Pre-Health students with the essential skills and tools needed to build a strong credentials portfolio. Each session focuses on developing the core competencies necessary for a successful application to health professions graduate programs.
These seminars are especially beneficial for freshmen, transfer students, and anyone exploring the Pre-Health track.
All new Hunter College freshmen and transfer students pursuing the Pre-Health track are required to attend.
Attendance Policy
To ensure full participation and engagement, students must adhere to the following attendance guidelines:
- Punctuality: Arriving more than 5 minutes late will result in being marked absent.
- Full Session Attendance: Students must remain present for the entire duration of each seminar. Leaving early will result in being marked absent.
- Zoom Seminar Conduct: Do not attempt to attend multiple Zoom seminars at the same time. This is a violation of the Pre-Health attendance policy and will result in being marked absent from all overlapping sessions.
- Camera Requirement: Cameras must remain on for the entire session. If your camera is not working, please resolve the issue before the seminar. We recommend downloading the Zoom app and using a phone or tablet if necessary. Students who are not visible on camera will be marked absent.
- Make-Up Policy: If you miss a seminar, you must attend the same seminar in the following semester.
- Excessive Absences: Missing more than three seminars in a semester will require you to repeat the entire seminar series.
- Class Conflicts: If you have a class scheduled during seminar times, you must plan to register for the seminar series in a future semester.
Post-Seminar Assignment
After each seminar, you are required to submit a Post-Seminar Reflection Assignment.
- Clearly explain what you learned during the session.
- Include specific facts or insights discussed in the seminar.
- Demonstrate your active listening and written communication skills.
- Quality Matters: Single-sentence responses are not acceptable. Your reflection should be thoughtful, detailed, and well-written.
- Academic Integrity: Plagiarized, unclear, or AI-generated responses will result in an absence.
- Additional Assignments: Some seminars may include extra assignments with separate deadlines. Be sure to review all instructions provided on this syllabus.
