Hunter College Pre-Dental Society Annual Banquet

Joins us for the annual Pre-Dental society dinner. We will have two guest speakers from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. We will also announce the new PDS e-board. Hunter College Postbaccalaureate Certificate Program Acknowledgment Ceremony

Join us in acknowledging the achievements of Hunter College Pre-Health Post Baccalaureate Program students. This ceremony is to recognize Post Baccs who are completing or have completed the program. The event is open to the entire Post Bacc Community and new students are strongly encouraged to attend to get a deeper sense of the program- see students who are on the other side and hear about their experiences. Welcome: Dr.Vanya Quinones-Jenab, Associate Provost, Hunter College Keynote Speaker: Dr. George F. Heinrich, Associate Dean for Admissions & Special Programs, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School Friends and family of graduating post baccs are encouraged to attend. NYC HEALTH + HOSPITALS Research Internship Information Session

NYC H + H Research Administration is looking for responsible and committed undergraduate and graduate research interns to assist with research studies examining our interventions and programs. Research interns will gain experience in the ethical conduct of research with human subjects, participant recruitment, study design, and data collection and entry, and regulatory compliance. Interns will gain familiarity with the research process, research administration, regulatory requirements, current understanding of medical and psychological disorders, the diagnostic process, and related treatments depending upon placement. This position is ideal for students who are considering a graduate degree in the medical profession. Competitive Applicants Will: + Be able to commit to at least a 9-month internship position if selected + Be self-motivated, and reliable + Have at least a 3.0 GPA + Be an undergraduate student enrolled in a health sciences/pre-med, or psychology major + Graduate students in any related major may apply

The Doctor Speaker Series-Dr. Maurice Hinson

Join us for an engaging discussion with Dr. Maurice Hinson. Maurice D. Hinson, MD is a Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Hinson received his BA in Neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University. It was there that he discovered his passion for research and mentoring- having engaged in several research projects at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institute and co-founding the Brotherhood Mentoring Program, a student run organization created to mentor African American male youth from an inner city Baltimore high school. After graduating Hopkins, He went on to perform research at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in the Department of Neonatology, where his work culminated with the publication of several peer reviewed articles and receipt of several nationally recognized awards, including the Young Investigator award from the Eastern Society of Pediatric Research. After completing a post baccalaureate at Drexel University, he received his MD from the Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM).

Fall 2017 Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program New Student Orientation

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Post-Baccalaureate Certificate Program in Health Careers Preparation. The next step is to attend our mandatory orientation session. Aim to arrive no later than 5:15PM, in order to check in before the session begins. There will be an informal gathering with current Post-Baccalaureates immediately following the official presentation. At the orientation session you will have the opportunity to meet current Post-Baccalaureates and the Pre-Health Advising office staff, learn more about registration and other Hunter procedures, and get answers to any additional questions that you may have. We look forward to meeting you, and welcome to Hunter College.
