Student Doctor Speaker Series: Hunter Alum Gloria Felix

Join us for a discussion with Hunter Alumni and former Hunter MAPS President Gloria Felix. She will discuss opportunities for pre-med students such as Post-Bacc linkage programs or special masters programs that lead to gaining acceptance into medical school, the ABLE program, (which is the linkage program that allowed her to achieve her dream of attending medical school) and about Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Basic Life Support CPR Training for Pre-Health Students

This 3-hour class includes instruction, demonstrations and hands-on activities. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the best training to have to try to help someone in an extreme situation when that person has stopped breathing.

How to succeed as a Pre-Health Student at Hunter College Panel Discussion

Join us for a panel discussion with current undergraduates and Post Bacc students who will share tips and techniques on how to succeed as a Pre-Health student. Pre-Health students must achieve a grade of B or better in all science courses, engage in research and gain clinical exposure in order to be considered competitive applicants. Come and hear how other Pre-Health students balance these commitments while juggling their academic and extracurricular activities. This panel discussion is strongly recommended for new transfer and Post Baccs students.

Spring 2019 Pre-Health New Student Orientation

The Pre-Health New Student Orientation is designed to provide detailed information to students who are new to Hunter College about the Pre-Health program. This orientation is intended for new students who will enter Hunter College in Spring 2019 and are planning to apply to Medical, Dental, Optometry, Podiatry, Pharmacy, Physician Assistant, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy or Veterinary school. Join us to meet the Pre-Health advising staff and learn what you need to do NOW to start building a strong application to professional school. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes prior to the start of the session. We look forward to meeting you!

Community Service Volunteering for Pre-Health Students

Jacqueline Rivera , the Let's Get Ready College Access Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator will discuss the importance of community service and will be recruiting volunteers for the program. Let's Get Ready is an educational non-profit offering SAT preparation and application counseling to high school students from underrepresented backgrounds. Volunteers will be trained to serve as tutors and mentors. This is a required workshop for Pre-Health students.
