What is Public Health?
Public health professionals work to improve the health and well-being of entire communities. Whereas a clinical health professional might treat an elderly diabetic patient, a public health professional works to understand and reduce a particular community's elevated risk for diabetes.
Part of Hunter's School of Urban Public Health (UPH), students in the Public Health (PH) program develop the skills needed to effectively answer a vast array of public health questions regarding disease, violence, and healthcare through a social justice lens. Fall 2020, the major name was changed from Community Health (COMHE) to Public Health (PH.)
The Public Health program offers a BS in Public Health and a Minor in Public Health.
