Admissions Information

Eligibility Requirements

Admissions to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) is a selective process and students are admitted for the Fall semester only. If prerequisites will be completed by Spring, qualified students may apply via the online Fall CUNY transfer application below.  For additional information about the major, contact Ms. Nzinga Ajani: click here for our online monthly chat session, or email Ms. Ajani at najani@hunter.cuny.edu .

BSPH ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

1. Completion of 60 credits at time of admission to the program (up to two courses may be in progress at time of application).

2. A combined minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher from all colleges attended

3. Completion of the following prerequisite courses with a grade of "C" or better

§ English Composition (ENG 12000 or equivalent), 3 cr

§ Intro to Sociology (SOC 10100 or equivalent), 3 cr

§      Introductory Psychology OR Anthropology (PSYCH 10000, PSYCH 15000, ANTH10100, or equivalent) 3cr

§      Introductory level Statistics (e.g., STAT 11000, 11300 or 21300; PSYCH 24800, SOC 24100, ECON 22100 or equivalent) 3 cr

§      Any 4-credit Lab Science course

APPLICATION PROCESS & DEADLINE

The PH application for Fall admittance will be open from  January 15 to April 15. Admissions to the Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) Program is FALL semesters only. "Only submit an application if you will have completed PH prerequisites by the Spring semester before the Fall semester you wish to start."


How to Apply

² To apply to the BSPH Program, current Hunter and Transfer students (CUNY or non-CUNY)

  complete a CUNY Transfer (not new) Application..... select FALL application only (see link below)*

² Click the link below and log in using your CUNYFirst account to access the online application.

² Be sure to select "Public Health" at Hunter College as your choice of curriculum.
