Teaching

In cooperation with the Division of Programs in Education, the Department of Sociology provides opportunities for students to prepare for a career in teaching social studies at the secondary school level. Students who want to qualify for teaching social studies in secondary schools should see the History Department section of the Hunter catalog for specific requirements in the social sciences and see the Education section of this catalog for other requirements. [Hopefully, both departments will participate in the college- wide electronic information system in the near future.] Advisement is also available in the Office of Educational Services of the Division of Programs in Education, Room HW 1000 (Tel: 212-772-4623).
