My Story
My journey into computer science has been shaped by both personal challenges and the constant support of my mom. Growing up, I struggled with anxiety and confidence, and there were many moments when I doubted myself. Through it all, my mom was always there. She supported me in both big moments and everyday ones, reminding me of my worth and encouraging me to keep going even when things felt overwhelming. While she did not guide me directly into computer science, she fully trusted my decision to pursue it and never questioned my ability to figure things out on my own. Knowing that I had someone who believed in me no matter what gave me the confidence to take risks and move forward, even when I felt unsure.
My interest in technology really began in high school through robotics. Being part of robotics pushed me to problem solve, work with others, and see how powerful technology can be when it is built with care. That experience played a big role in leading me to computer science. It also showed me that technology is not just about code, but about people. Watching my parents and others around me struggle with systems that were meant to make life easier inspired me to want to build technology that is more thoughtful and accessible. I want to create things that actually help people in their daily lives, even in small ways.
Balancing school, leadership roles, and personal responsibilities has not always been easy, but it has taught me a lot about myself. Over time, I have learned how important it is to stay organized, set boundaries, and allow myself time to rest. One quote I live by is, “take it day by day.” It helps me stay grounded during stressful moments and reminds me that progress does not have to be perfect. Looking back, I am proud of how far I have come and excited to continue growing into someone who builds technology with care, intention, and people in mind!
