Once in the NFS major, you will take the following courses:

  • Anatomy & Physiology 1 with lab
  • Anatomy & Physiology 2 with lab
  • Microbiology
  • Intro to Food Science
  • Intro to Nutrition

Take any 8 NFS courses (24 credits):

  • NFS 33200: Cultural Foods
  • NFS 34100: Advanced Nutrition
  • NFS 34200: Nutrition through the Life Cycle
  • NFS 36100 Food Policy
  • NFS 40200: Research Methods
  • NFS 40300: Nutrition for Exercise & Sport
  • Hunter College Online Application 
  • Minimum 30 credits upon application 
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 
  • Admission for Fall or Spring semesters
  • All prerequisites must be completed when applying to the major

Select NFS majors will be invited to apply. Must have completed all 34 credits of MS prerequisites + NFS major requirements by the summer of their junior year.

Accelerated program combines BS + MS in nutrition in 5 full-time years of study.
