A: The prospect of not only practicing medicine but also contributing to the advancement of healthcare through innovative research is what inspired me to pursue dual training as an MD/PhD. This combined path allows me to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and clinical application, ensuring that breakthroughs in the lab can be translated into tangible improvements in patient treatment and outcomes.

I was able to clearly link my clinical and research experiences, showing how each has strengthened my commitment to the field and how this career path aligns with my goals.

A: Gain a thorough understanding of both the benefits and challenges of your chosen path. By recognizing that pursuing this path will require sacrifices and fully understanding these aspects, you will be better prepared to navigate the journey ahead. Moreover, this knowledge will make you a stronger and more compelling applicant, as it demonstrates your informed commitment and readiness to face the realities of the path you have chosen.
