Summary

Hone your news literacy through on-the-ground visits to news outlets in London!

This special summer session version of MEDIA 211: News Literacy in a Digital Age will help you become a more literate news consumer and your own fact-checker through an in-depth exploration of the British news media. During this 3-credit course, you’ll get the chance to visit news media outlets in London and gain a better understanding of news literacy firsthand. Spend a month in this vibrant European capital and soak in its culture – all while fulfilling a Hunter core course requirement.

IMPORTANT: The deadline to apply for this program is February 1.

Location: London, UK

Term: Summer 2026

Credits: 3 Credits (MEDIA 211: News Literacy in a Digital Age)

Financial Aid: Please be sure to meet with the Financial Aid Office to discuss your particular financial aid package.

Scholarships: In addition to the Gilman Scholarship, students should visit our Scholarships Page for more opportunities. Students interested in applying for the Gilman scholarship should email Stephen Lassonde at ops@hunter.cuny.edu.
