Hunter’s Sara Camnasio ’16 to Present at TEDxCUNY

Sara Camnasio '16

Sara Camnasio, a Macaulay Honors student at Hunter as well as a McNulty Scholar has been selected to speak at TEDxCUNY, the first public university TEDx conference in New York City.

In September, TEDxCUNY hosted "Here's the Pitch," a student speaker competition where Camnasio was chosen for her "presentation quality, professionalism, and content." Camnasio works with research advisors Kelle Cruz, a professor in Hunter's Physics and Astronomy Department, and Emily Rice, a professor with the College of Staten Island. She conducts research into brown dwarfs at the American Museum of Natural History alongside her research partner and fellow McNulty Scholar Munazza Alam '16. Her TEDxCUNY presentation will be about rebranding STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).

TEDxCUNY will be held at the Macaulay Honors College on November 16. The conference's theme is "Access," and will be split into four different sessions: Your Mind, Your Community, Your World, and Your Future.

You may visit the TEDxCUNY website for information about attending the conference or to watch the live stream.
