At Hunter College's 211th Commence Exercises, Ms. Ruth Hauptman was the recipient of the HC Computer Science Department's inaugural bestowal of the Daniel I.A. Cohen Prize for Academic Excellence in Theoretical Computer Science.

Join Hunter's Computer Science Department in congratulating Ms. Ruth Hauptman, recipient of the Department's inaugural Daniel I.A. Cohen Prize for Academic Excellence in Theoretical Computer Science.

Ms. Hauptman, Spring 2015 graduating Computer Science major leaves Hunter with a perfect 4.0 overall GPA, is the first recipient of this prize, which is to be offered to outstanding students in the academic arena of Computational Theory.  Ms. Hauptman plans to continueher studies in medical school.

The prize itself commemorates both Professor Cohen's contributions to the field and his years of dedicated service to the Hunter College Computer Science Department, as professor, department chair , academic leader and friend.

To Professor Cohen, we offer inestimable thanks for all his hard work on our behalf and cherish the memories with which he leaves us in his retirement.

To Ms. Hauptman, we present our heartfelt congratulations on this honor and most profound wishes for success in her future endeavors -- academic, professional and personal.
