Blackboard

Please see the attached documents for archiving courses, bFree and course copying.

  • Prior to CUNY archiving, instructors can use Blackboard's Export tool to save zip file copies of Blackboard courses on their local computers. Follow this link for instructions on exporting your Blackboard courses.
  • There is also free special software (“Bfree”) which allows the exported site to be viewed on a local computer in a format similar to what you see on the Blackboard server. Follow this link for instructions and information.
  • Also prior to CUNY archiving, Blackboard has two methods for copying materials from one course to another. The “Course Copy” method can be used to copy most or all of an existing course to a new course shell. Alternatively, the “Copy” method enables the copying of individual items, such as documents, PowerPoint presentations or folders, to a new course shell. Follow this link for instructions on both copying methods.

Courses may still be restored by sending a request to the Blackboard support group at bb@hunter.cuny.edu. Keep in mind, it can take up to a week before a course is restored.
Our Technology Resource Center, located on the 4th floor of Thomas Hunter also offers a variety of workshops for Blackboard, including archiving courses. They are also available to do one on one walk- ins  with users Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm).

Please follow this link for schedules and descriptions for all available Blackboard workshops.

For the Outlook issue with the signature, are you using a Mac or a PC? We have instructions for both.
