PATRICIA MANCHESTER NAMED PRINCIPAL OF HUNTER COLLEGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

(New York, NY) - July 21, 2004 - Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab has announced the appointment of Patricia Manchester as principal of the Hunter College Elementary School. Manchester comes to HCES from Trinity School in New York City, where she served as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School.

During her 15-year tenure at Trinity as both teacher and administrator, Manchester was active in every aspect of the school program, including curriculum development, teacher training, student governance, and the creation of school-wide policies. Prior to Trinity, Manchester taught at the Grace Church School in Brooklyn Heights.

"Patricia's keen understanding of children's learning styles, along with her proven leadership abilities and boundless energy will invigorate and strengthen our elementary school," said President Raab. "We are thrilled to welcome her to the Hunter family."

Manchester earned her undergraduate degree from Brown University, an M.S. in Social Work from Columbia University and an M.S. in Education from Hunter College.
