Professor David Petrain's Book 'Homer in Stone' Praised in Bryn Mawr Classical Review
Professor David Petrain's recently published Homer in Stone: The 'Tabulae Iliacae' in their Roman Context. Greek Culture in the Roman World' was warmly received in the Bryn Mawr Classical Review, an online site that has the widest distribution of publications that deal with the field of classics. Referring to Petrain's "exceptionally learned and intelligent book," reviewer Thomas R. Keith, of Loyola University Chicago, says that "all scholars of the Roman reception of Greek culture will learn much from his superb monograph."
