Professor Mark Hauber's Study of Tinamou Eggs Noted by NY Times, Wall Street Journal, National Geographic Website
The New York Times Science section recently published an article on Professor Mark Hauber's work on tinamou eggs, a study which originally appeared in the journal Interface (Hauber was a co-author). Apparently the tinamou, "a shy, ground-dwelling bird native to South and Central America...produce some of the most spectacular eggshells in the world, in colors like sky blue, lime green and rich chocolate and so glossy that they can reflect overhead trees and brush." Dr. Hauber's work is also mentioned on the National Geographic website, and his recent The Book of Eggs is among suggested holiday books on a list compiled by the Wall Street Journal.
