Professor Meena Alexander's Op-Ed in Crain's: to Reduce Inequality, Reinvest in CUNY

Distinguished Professor Meena Alexander, of Hunter's English Department, has co-written an op-ed piece with two fellow CUNY Distinguished Professors, Dr. Michelle Fine, of the CUNY Graduate Center, and Dr. Nicholas Freudenberg, of the School of Public Health. The Op-Ed appears in Crain's, the New York business newspaper, in the February 26 edition. In it, the three professors make the case for adding, not cutting, state funding for the City University of New York: "By finding the funds to reinvest in CUNY, the governor and the state legislature can demonstrate that their commitment to reducing inequality is more than rhetoric, that black and brown lives truly do matter, and that they value higher education sufficiently to work out their differences."
