How To Be Considered
The Athena Scholar Program is one of several Hunter College Honors Scholar Programs for incoming freshmen who demonstrate high academic achievement and potential, as well as excellent writing skills. In addition to prior academic achievement, Athena Scholars must also demonstrate significant interest and/or accomplishments in either the humanities (philosophy, history, literature, classics, religion, etc.) or the social sciences (psychology, political science, sociology, anthropology, archaeology, etc.)
All Honors Scholar Programs offer 4 year renewable scholarships, dedicated advisors and faculty mentors, priority registration, freshman year priority access to residential housing, and an enriching academic experience through first-year common course scheduling, common readings, and special co-curricular programming.
Visit the Honors Scholar Programs site to access the application and deadlines. For questions, please reach out to one of our friendly Admissions Counselors or contact the Office of Honors Scholar Programs at 212-396-6888 or scholarprograms@hunter.cuny.edu.
