Note: this requirement cannot be substituted by Chemistry for non-science majors, such as CHEM 100/101 and/or CHEM 120/121 or their equivalent)
- One year of General Biology for science majors with lab and grade of at least C (Equivalent to Hunter College Courses: BIO 100 and 102). Note: this requirement cannot be substituted by Anatomy and Physiology (BIO 120/122 or their equivalent).*
- 60 credits
- Overall G.P.A of at least 2.5
*Please note: Students may be in the process of taking one of the general biology or chemistry prerequisites listed above at the time of application. For example, a student would be eligible to apply if he/she has completed CHEM 102-4-6 and BIO 100 and is in the process of taking BIO 102 (or at least be officially registered for the course) at the time of application. A student would not be eligible to apply if he/she has completed CHEM 102-4-6 and is in the process of taking BIO 100. Students accepted into the program must complete BIO 100/102 and CHEM 102-4-6 with grades of at least C in all before they can take any MLS courses.
If you studied or intend to study General Chemistry and Biology at a CUNY 2 year college, check the guide to equivalent courses (see “transferring credit”) to be sure you are taking the correct classes. If outside CUNY, take classes designated for biomedical science majors, i.e. the most rigorous ones you can find.
