Human Biology Program October 2025 Newsletter

Welcome to October! We hope you are getting settled in your fall schedule and taking advantage of tutoring and all of the support Hunter has to offer! Now is the time to start planning ahead for Winter and Spring 2026 as well. We are here to support you, and will be holding multiple events as well as extra advising hours during registration. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our office anytime: humbio@hunter.cuny.edu!

💼 Human Biology Program News 🧬

Preparing for Registration for Human Biology Majors Workshop

  • Need to review how to read your DegreeWorks? Want tips on how to plan your schedule prior to your registration date? We will review everything you need to know about registration! There will also be time for Q&A with Human Biology advisors.

Request to Enroll in HMBIO 401 in Spring 2026!

  • If you are approaching your last year at Hunter, you may be ready for HMBIO 401: Senior Capstone! Capstone is a seminar style course that addresses some of the key contemporary topics and debates in human biology from multiple vantage points. Priority for taking Senior Capstone in Spring 2026 will be given to students who plan on graduating in the spring. As a reminder, HMBIO 401 is a graduation requirement for ALL students in the Human Biology Program.

Apply for Graduation!

  • If you are aiming to graduate this fall or winter, please apply for graduation on CUNYfirst by October 15! There are no exceptions if you miss this deadline.
  • Please also be sure to meet with both your major and primary advisors to confirm graduation readiness.

Apply for the Human Biology CIE Program (CUNY Inclusive Economy Program)!

Want to explore careers in healthcare while gaining internship and job experience? Human Biology majors are invited to apply for the Human Biology CIE Program, which grants students extra advising NOW (from as early as freshman year!) until graduation as they explore career pathways and get one-on-one support finding and applying for internships and jobs! Apply here!
