Spanish major concentration: Spanish-English/English-Spanish Translation and Interpretation
This program prepares students for careers in the growing field of translation and interpretation. Students take courses in Spanish language, literature, and civilization in conjunction with specialized courses in translation/interpretation theory and practice. An additional twelve credits of complementary courses in English and related fields of study are required. These must be approved by the program adviser. Sufficient flexibility is built into the program so that students may tailor certain requirements to fit their individual needs and interests. An intensive internship in translation and/or interpretation serves as the student’s capstone experience and preparation for future professional settings. (36 cr.)
