Mitchell Wu, Asian American Studies
Mitchell Wu was born on the island of Taiwan and immigrated to Queens, NY, at the age of six. He graduated from Cardozo High School and attended SUNY Stony Book under the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). He double-majored in Interdisciplinary Social Science and U.S. History and graduated with Chi Alpha Epsilon (XAE) honors. He received his M.A. from the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University. His research looks at the dynamics of race and masculinity in American media perceptions of Asian and Asian American male athletes. His contributed work on the issue of racial profiling of Asian Americans was published in The Contemporary Asian American Encyclopedia in 2009.
