The BP-ENDURE program prepares undergraduate students who are affiliated with groups that are underrepresented in STEM fields to succeed in PhD programs in neuroscience. We welcome applications from all backgrounds.
The BP-ENDURE program, administered through Hunter College and New York University, is conducted in partnership with Brown University, University of Michigan, Vanderbilt University, and Yale University to expose BP-ENDURE trainees to a research-intensive curriculum and an environment of active research.
The BP-ENDURE program is designed to encourage and prepare undergraduate students in research training to succeed in PhD programs in the neurosciences.
Students are eligible to apply for the BP-ENDURE program if they meet the following criteria:
- Full-time Hunter or NYU undergraduate students from all backgrounds.
- Minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0
- Commitment to applying to a Ph.D. program in a neuroscience-related area
- Rising freshman, sophomore or junior
- Permanent resident or US citizen
The MARC program gives research-focused undergraduates majoring in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Psychology, or Physics who want to pursue careers in biomedical or medically relevant physics or behavioral research the intensive preparation needed for success in PhD programs.
A generous monthly stipend and tuition waiver are available.
Eligibility: Candidates for the MARC Program must meet the following criteria
- Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
- Must be a matriculated full-time undergraduate student majoring in the following Bachelor’s degree programs at Hunter College: (Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Psychology, or Physics)
- Must have completed at least freshman year by the end of the spring semester with entry-level science course(s)
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Must have no previous bachelor’s degree
- Must have career goals in biomedical, or medically relevant physics or behavioral research
- Must have a commitment to apply in senior year to a PhD track program in biomedical sciences
- Students who are solely seeking medical school admissions or other solely clinically oriented degrees such as D.MD, Pharm D, Psy D. etc. are ineligible
MARC Application (deadline 12/15): A complete application consists of answering all questions on the application and two Hunter Science Faculty recommendations.
Recommendation Letters: The applicant is to inform each recommender of the application deadline date and provide the email address to submit the recommendation. The recommender is to submit the letter directly to: marc@hunter.cuny.edu.

Requirements:
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Excellence in relevant coursework (e.g., psychology, public health, behavioral medicine, research methods, or statistics).
- Hunter College undergraduate; sophomore or above.
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or a non-citizen national.
