Isabella Rossellini Brings the Birds and the Bees from the Hunter Lab to the BAM Stage

Hunter graduate student Isabella Rossellini – the acclaimed actress, author and director – brings her study of animal behavior to a one-woman show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

In Green Porno: Live on Stage, Rossellini, who is pursuing a master’s in animal behavior and conservation at Hunter, wears Day-Glo costumes and communes with puppets as she mimics the reproductive rituals of assorted insects and crustaceans. Rossellini worked with screenwriter Jean-Claude Carrière to adapt Green Porno from her Sundance Channel video series of the same name.

The show, which BAM calls “a cheeky, delightful zoology lesson brought vividly to life by Rossellini’s singular flair for storytelling,” runs from January 16 to January 25 at BAM’s Fisher Theater.

Green Porno is almost sold out, but tickets may still be available through the BAM website.
