Hunter Professor Carrie Moyer Wins Guggenheim Fellowship

Carrie Moyer, associate professor of art, has won a 2013 Guggenheim Fellowship. Presented each year to a select group of scholars, artists and scientists, the highly prestigious prize is awarded on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise.

Moyer is both a painter and a writer. Her paintings have been exhibited widely at national and international venues, including MoMA PS1, Cooper-Hewitt, the American University Museum, Shedhalle (Zurich) and Project Art Space (Dublin). Her reviews and articles have appeared in Art in America, Artforum, Modern Painters, the Brooklyn Rail and other publications. She joined the Hunter faculty in 2011.
