Nursing Honors Scholar Program

Leadership in the Field of Nursing

The Nursing Honors Scholar Program is for highly engaged students to pursue nursing education within the context of an enhanced, academically-challenging curriculum that instills a desire for learning. Graduates of the program will be uniquely-qualified to enter the profession of nursing and to become leaders in the profession, obtain doctoral education, and make valuable contributions to the profession and discipline of nursing though nursing education, research, or advanced practice.

Students admitted to the program also receive priority consideration for admission to the School of Nursing upon submitting Nursing Entrance Exam (NEX) scores and completing first-year generic program pre-nursing requisites with required grade and GPA standards. The NEX must be taken by the end of February of Year 1 to be considered for Fall admission in Year 2.

The Nursing Honors Scholar Program is open to first-year applicants who are interested in obtaining a baccaulreate degree in nursing over a traditional, four-year course of full time study. See program website for details.
