Dr. Sylvia E. Fishman served Hunter College for nearly four decades as a professor, administrator, dean and Vice President. She retired from her longtime post as Hunter’s Dean of Students and Vice President for Student Affairs in 2002, but continued to be involved with the college until her death in June 2004.

Vice President Fishman was instrumental in creating a host of new programs and facilities to benefit students, including the Student Center, a facility dedicated to academic advising and program planning.
